Under the Jal Jeevan Mission awareness initiative in FY 2024-25, implemented with support from Jan Jagran Kendra, Muskan Foundation used street theatre (Nukkad Natak) to communicate important water and sanitation messages to rural communities.
What we did
- Conducted awareness performances across 234 villages in East Singhbhum district
- Promoted safe drinking water, proper use and maintenance of household tap connections, and water conservation
- Shared information about hygiene and community participation in village water and sanitation committees
- Encouraged women and young people to take part in local water-management efforts
The initiative aimed to improve understanding of safe water practices, household hygiene and community responsibility for water and sanitation services.
