Pooja Kumari, a 15-year-old student from a government school in Hazaribagh district, had very limited awareness about menstrual hygiene and adolescent health. Due to social stigma and lack of resources, she often faced discomfort and hesitation in discussing health-related issues.
The programme
During the Reproductive & Sexual Health Programme organised by Muskan Foundation with support from Zones Corporate Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Pooja attended awareness sessions and participated in a health check-up camp conducted for adolescent girls. She also received a sanitation kit containing essential hygiene materials and guidance on safe menstrual practices.
What changed
The programme helped Pooja understand the importance of personal hygiene, nutrition and health awareness. Today, she feels more confident, informed and comfortable discussing health concerns openly.
She now encourages her friends and classmates to adopt hygienic practices and prioritise their well-being.
